County Nutrition Action Plans (CNAP)

CNAP consists of
Nutrition Assistance Programs and Organizations within Riverside County who are working together to increase physical activity and consumption of fruits and vegetables among Riverside County residents
Fruits and veggies are good

Riverside County Nutrition Action Plan was
created from a federal mandate that was initiated
in February 2003 at the First National Nutrition
Education Conference of all USDA nutrition
assistance programs.  California’s State Nutrition
Action Plan (SNAP) began meeting in December
2003 with a goal of increasing fruit and vegetable
consumption.

Three counties received WIC funding for pilot local “SNAP’s” and Riverside County was one of the recipients.  Members of Riverside's CNAP have created the Riverside County Nutrition Action Plan as a working document outlining what services are provided by participating organizations to increase the consumption of fruits and vegetables in the County, and it will work on additional projects in the future.
