Nutri-Steps

Attention Preschool Teachers and Child Care Providers!

Are you interested in fun, interactive and exciting classes for your providers and teachers?
Then we have the classes for you.

Nutrition Educators will come to your location FREE of charge to provide classes to you and your staff about nutrition, healthy eating and physical activity.

Four class topics are offered:
General Nutrition, Healthy Snacks, Picky Eaters and Physical Activity

Teens in Nutri-Steps ClassAdditional Services & Classes

  • Healthy You and Me – This series of six classes is designed to educate teen mothers on the importance of healthy eating and physical activity not only for themselves, but also for their children.
  • “Take A Milk Break” Puppet Show – Meet the ‘Know-How’ cow who teaches ‘Little Rapper Rabbit’ that having milk and a good breakfast are much better for a growing body than a soda and chips. Along the way, children are introduced to the food guide pyramid, the importance of fruits and vegetables, and physical activity.
  • Backpack Literacy Program – The back pack program is a pilot program that works with local libraries providing childcare providers with books and lesson plans regarding fruits and vegetables. The childcare provider keeps the backpack for a set amount of time, then turns the backpack in to receive a new backpack full of new books and lesson plans.
  • Nutri-StepsSnack Activities – The Snack Activities program is a fun and exciting way to get children excited about literacy and eating healthy snacks. The Snack Activities program is provided to children attending childcare facilities throughout Riverside County.
  • The Garden Program – The Garden Program introduces the exciting world of gardening while promoting the importance of eating at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables to children attending childcare centers throughout Riverside County.
