What can you get at WIC?
- Special checks to buy healthy foods such as milk, juice,
eggs, cheese, cereal, dry beans and peanut butter.
- Information about nutrition and health to help you
and your family eat well and be healthy.
- Support and information about breastfeeding your baby.
- Help in finding health care and other community services.
List of WIC Foods:
- Cereal - Cheerios, Kellogs
Corn Flakes, Mini Wheats, Post Bran Flakes, Life, Quaker Toasted Oatmeal,
Malt O Meal, Honey Bunches of Oats, Store BrandCrispy Rice, store
brand Instant Regular Oatmeal, Kix, Cream of Wheat, Quaker Corn Bran
- Infant Cereal - Gerber
only - 8oz. boxes
- Infant Formula - Milk
based: Similac Advance with Iron, Similac with Iron. Soy based: Similac
Isomil Advance with Iron, Similac Isomil with Iron. Lactose Free:
Similac Lactose Free with Iron
- Milk - Nonfat (Fat free,
Skim), 1% Lowfat (Light), 2% Reduced fat, Whole Pasteurized Fluid
Cow’s Milk (single gallons or gallon twin pack). For "1
1/2 gallon" check, must buy 1 full gallon and a 1/2 gallon. Lactose
Reduced or Lactose Free Milk (1/2 gallons). Acidophilus Milk (1/2
gallons). Evaporated Milk (12 oz. can) Powdered Dry Milk (9.6 oz to
25.6 oz box). Checks with 2 gallons milk allow up to 25.6 OZ. powdered
dry milk. Checks with 1 1/2 gallons milk allow up to 20 oz. powdered
dry milk.
Breastmilk- Best food for baby. First choice for mom.
- Cheese - (block or round
- any brand) 0.75 pound (12 ounce) or larger Jack, Mozzarella, Natural
Cheddar (mild, medium, sharp, extra sharp, or white), Process American,
Regular, reduced fat or low sodium are okay. No pre-packaged sliced
cheese.
- Eggs - (any brand) Dozens
ONLY. Grade AA chicken eggs (white): small, medium or large only.
No specialty eggs, no cage free, stress free, vitamin enriched, organic
or Egglands Best.
- Peanut Butter - (any
brand) 16 to 18 oz. Plain, creamy, chunky, super chunky styles or
Honey Nut roasted. Low-sodium or low sugar are OK. No lowfat or reduced
fat.
- Tuna - Any brand. Chunk
light water packed. No albacore, no prime fillet, no tuna with soy
protein. Dietetic tuna is okay.
- Dried Peas, Beans, or Lentils-
(any brand) Pre-sealed, packaged or bulk are OK.
- Juices - White Grape,
Orange, Apple, Pineapple, Vegetable.
Brands accepted: Hansen's, Langers, Welch's Old Orchard and store
brands. Liquid and frozen are okay.
- Carrots - Any brand.
Pre-packaged, fresh large, whole.
